چکیده

Objective: Traumatic thoracic aortic injury (TTAI) is a major cause of death in high velocity trauma. While most cases result instant death, TTAI may be present patients with multiple traumatic injuries and, therefore, index suspicion necessary. Endovascular treatment offers significant advantages this context and now standard care. The purpose study was to review contemporary institutional experience endovascular repair TTAI. Methods: Discharge data for admitted between 2010 2019 were extracted from an administrative database (level 1 trauma centre). ICD-9 procedure code ‘39.73 - implantation graft the aorta’ cross checked hospital registries identify all cases. Follow up patient charts. primary endpoints technical clinical success. Secondary time diagnosis surgical relative event, overall mortality, ongoing success, specification (upper limb revascularisation, spinal drainage, systemic heparinisation, endograft oversizing). Results: Six who underwent TEVAR identified. All victims impact deceleration trauma, aged 24 57 years old, otherwise healthy. Additional (Injury Severity Score 14 – 57). submitted CTA on admission, which allowed early < hours expect one (who treated first 48 hours). According Classification TTAI, grade III lesions six patients. 100% Three had lesion that extended above subclavian artery consequently required coverage, but no upper revascularisation. Spinal drainage not used there neurological events. Half under heparinisation. median oversizing 16% (10% 35%). There deaths none during follow (median duration 35.5 months IQR 84.5 months), success 100%. Conclusion: safe effective therapy even good mid term results should expected. specifications such as need use oversizing, heparinisation remain unclear. long consequences clarified. Endovascular treatment for traumatic thoracic aortic pseudoaneurysm: a case report

Cases of an endovascular treatment for traumatic aortic injury are extremely rare. A prompt diagnosis of traumatic thoracic aortic pseudoaneurysm through a 3-dimensional computed tomographic angiography of aorta and emergency repair are mandatory to rescue the life-threatening condition. An endovascular treatment is a trend for traumatic aortic injury because of lower invasivity, morbidity and ...

A case of paraplegia that developed 6 years after thoracic endovascular aortic repair for blunt traumatic aortic injury

Case Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is becoming the standard therapy for blunt thoracic aortic injury (BTAI). However, the long-term outcomes of TEVAR for BTAI remain unclear. A 36-year-old man was admitted to our emergency department with dyspnea. He had been involved in a serious traffic accident 6 years earlier, requiring TEVAR for BTAI. Outcome Acute heart failure and pneumon...
